Trek 7

I looked out of my bedroom window at 5am and the sun was just coming up in a clear sky but no birds were singing. By 6.30 it was raining hard. It stopped by the time we started walking but settled in again about 45 minutes later and we were all soaked to the skin very quickly. Many people had left their waterproofs in the support vehicle and by the time it returned they were very very wet. The rain stopped as we had our lunch and it turned sunny in the afternoon. Some more lovely views as we gradually descended from the high pass to sea level, our last few miles being along the coast, just a few feet from the sea. At the end of the 16.5 mile walk we had a 40 km drive to our hotel - The Malibu, where Margaret and I have a room overlooking the beach and the sea. We went for a paddle to cool my burning feet! Cloud obscured the sunset but I am hopeful of at least one decent one while we are here. Our evening meal was a Meze (various small dishes of salad, humus, beans, beetroot etc) followed by un-named (and not particularly pleasant) cold fish and lightly-roasted, but cold, potato.
