Market Day

The rain was falling steadily as we had our fruit salad and toast for breakfast. George phoned and we postponed our walk round the reservoir until tomorrow. Instead we decided to go to the weekly market about a mile away. The displays of local produce were impressive and we were offered tasters of fruit, nuts. dates, etc. We bought a carrier bag FULL of delicious juicy oranges for about £1.25 Had lunch on the balcony - crispy rolls, cheese, local sweetmeats, fruit etc. Sparrows almost eating from my hand. Lovely. Sun out again now. Only 1 more day before walk proper (and the aches, blisters etc) begins. Going out to Italian restaurant tonight. More tomorrow.
