Day 1 of Trek

We were collected exactly on time and joined a convoy of 2 other cars heading out to Korucam Burnu. Once everyone had disembarked from the cars I realised George was missing! I phoned him to say David was on his way back to get him and while we waited we had tea and home made cookies. Lovely! The walk was very pleasant with glorious wild flowers. Lunch was superb and all made by John's wife Margaret and consisted of pasta salad, beetroot, hummous, green salad, leek and potato pie, salmon and ginger pie and bread then an excellent lemon cake. After lunch we walked on to the Gecitkoy dam - a total of 19km. We ended today's walk at 5pm and were back at our hotel by 5.30. Margaret suffered a bit from the heat and she picked up a few blisters but we have dressed them so, hopefully they won't cause any problems tomorrow.
